So... yea. You may or may not have noticed that I cut my hair. I gotta say, I love the new look. I've been going back and forth about cutting my hair for about 4 months. I'm still considering a tattoo, an idea I've had for about 2 years and counting. I guess it takes me a while to commit. The reason for my hesitation really stems to not being able to find someone I really trusted to bring my hair vision to life.
Until one day I mentioned to one of my bosses that I wanted to cut my hair. She offered some recommendations and then as if the heralds of haircare began to sing, we found Vernon Scott on IG (of course). Vernon is a Master Barber born/raised from Brooklyn. He cuts some pretty important people's hair: Danai Gurira, Maxwell, Idris Elba and Chrisette Michele. No big deal! Aside from his skill, Vernon was laid back, charming and very Brooklyn (I say that with much love). Thank you Vernon for shaping me up and getting my life. If you're ready for a new look, visit his IG page or his website.
The thought of what others would say about my haircut, crossed my mind for about 1 second. Of course seeking the approval of your peers and family is important. But at the end of the day, it's your head and your money. If cutting your hair will help find you some happiness, then by all means, get out those shears and snip-snip. But if you're like me and would prefer a professional, hit up Mr. Vernon Scott.
