Here are 5 Still Life Photography Trends
Macro Photography
Macro [Or Close Up] Photography is a form of ASMR for me. Common Macro Shots: Beauty Close Ups, Textures & Product Detail Close UPs
Direct Lighting
Originally I was going to say bright colors but that was 2020. I’m noticing more photographers use soft direct lighting. One way this is achieved is with a light [no modifiers] facing your subject + adding a diffuser in front of the light. It resembles sunlight with just a soft glow. **New light models come with a built in soft glass reflector i.e. Profoto, Flashpoint + Broncolor
Minimal Styling
No overcrowded images. Intentional Usage of props that do not distract from the products themselves. Bonus: utilizing fresh fruit ingredients in images.
Lifestyle
The Shopping Landscape has changed since the panini. Customers want to see how products can be incorporated into their routines & lifestyles.
Movement
Another ASMR moment. Using Water or Suspension gives the impression of movement and can make images more dynamic.
